Community waste education
As part of our work in Telford & Wrekin we offer waste education across the borough to help residents manage their waste.
Talks
We give talks to community groups - giving information about how to use the recycling service, what happens to the materials and about some of the wider work of Veolia in the community. We also bring along handy information about composting, our grant, and preventing food waste. If you belong to a community group interested in booking our waste education speaker, contact [email protected] or phone 07824 545597.
Tours
Ever wondered what happens to your red top bin waste materials? Or have you pondered how we separate your plastic, cans and glass you put in your purple top bin? We offer tours of our local Veolia sites to small groups - contact [email protected] or phone 07824 545597 for more information.
Events
We attend community events to speak with residents about the local recycling service and give top tips on reducing waste. We can also set up a children's activity table to engage the younger people at your event - with colouring, crosswords and other activity sheets. We can also provide a specific information stand at job and career fayres. If you're planning a community event or run a community venue and would like us to attend with an information stand, contact [email protected] or phone 07824 545597.
Other waste education activities
We also promote the Reduce Reuse Recycle message through doorstep engagement, visit residents associations and support Telford & Wrekin Council initiatives.
